VA-Gov: Rand Paul (R. KY) Coming To Virginia To Beg Libertarians To Back Ken Cuccinelli (R)

VA-Gov: Rand Paul (R. KY) Coming To Virginia To Beg Libertarians To Back Ken Cuccinelli (R)

by poopdogcomedy

Giving up on trying to win over moderates, females and minority voters, Ken Cuccinelli (R. VA) is stuck trying to get fringe base out to the polls on November 5th. And another GOP clown is coming back to Virginia to help Cuccinelli win back a section of his base:

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) will campaign in Fairfax Monday for Republican gubernatorial candidate and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, in a "Get Out the Vote Rally."

The rally will take place at The Waterford, 12025 Lee Jackson Memorial Hwy. in the Fair Lakes area of Fairfax. The event had previously been scheduled at the firehouse on University Drive in Fairfax City near George Mason University, but rumor has it attendance is expected to be quite high, and the event was moved to the Waterford to be able to accommodate more attendees.

On Tuesday, Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana will campaign with Cuccinelli in a rally in Bristow.- Vienna Patch, 10/27/13

Looks like Rand and Jindal are going to be the big GOP closing acts for Cuccinelli's campaign:

<...>

Paul's scheduled Oct. 28 visit was announced Wednesday, days after his father, former presidential candidate and Texas congressman Ron Paul, endorsed Cuccinelli last week.

It follows Virginia visits this week by several high-profile Republican surrogates -- South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, and reality television star Jim Bob Duggar -- on behalf of the attorney general seeking promotion to the state's top job. - Virginia-Pilot, 10/16/13

Why is Paul returning to Virginia? So he can beg Libertarians to get behind the Cooch:

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., on Thursday urged Virginia Republicans supporting Robert C. Sarvis, the Libertarian candidate for governor, to come home to the GOP and vote for Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, the party’s nominee.

“I consider myself to be a libertarian conservative, a libertarian Republican,” Paul said in a phone interview Thursday. “A lot of things (Cuccinelli) talks about are free-market, limited-government, leave-me-alone government. I think there is a lot to like there.

“What I’m excited about in Ken Cuccinelli is that he is smart, he is articulate, and he has a keen sense of justice,” Paul said. Cuccinelli’s attempt to challenge the Affordable Care Act in court was “one of the things that catapulted a nationwide debate over the constitutionality of the health care law,” he said.

Paul, a potential Republican presidential contender for 2016, will campaign with Cuccinelli in Fairfax County and Virginia Beach next week. His visit to the state comes as the attorney general faces headwinds from members of his own party who have defected to Sarvis.

In a recent Quinnipiac University poll, Cuccinelli had the support of 81 percent of Republicans, but 11 percent back Sarvis — votes that Cuccinelli likely will need Nov. 5 as he trails Democrat Terry McAuliffe in several polls. - Stanfford County Sun, 10/25/13

1. LOL. Scratch a Libertarian today and there's always a Fascist Republican underneath.

The most fullofsh!t whiners in government. They are nothing like the old-fashioned libertarians. And today's Republicans aren't anything like old-fashioned conservatives.

9. Most "Libertarians" are Republicans who won't admit it.

They are front runner pieces of shit. When Bush was nuking Iraqis--they were Republican. After Katrina, Iraq quagmire, and financial meltdown--they are Libertarian or "independents".

4. Did you mean that "Rand & Jindal are going to be the big GOP closing acts" or "big GOP losing acts"?

No difference, I suppose.

12. Paul Warns of Logan's Run Type Future in VA

Paul Warns of Logan's Run Type Future in VA

Josh Marshall

Flagging gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli brought in Tea Party demi-god Sen. Rand Paul for a campaign event today in Virginia. And Paul warned of a future, presumably helped along by Terry McAuliffe in which science would lead to the destruction of whole classes of non-perfect people ...

Tea party hero Rand Paul warned scientific advancements could lead to eugenics during a Monday visit at Liberty University, looking to boost the political fortunes of fellow Republican Ken Cuccinelli's bid for governor.

During a visit to the Christian school founded by Jerry Falwell, Paul looked to energize conservative supporters by warning that people who are short, overweight or less intelligent could be eliminated through abortion. With one week remaining, Cuccinelli is hoping the joint appearance with the U.S. senator from Kentucky will encourage the far-right flank of his party to abandon third-party libertarian spoiler Robert Sarvis.

"In your lifetime, much of your potential -- or lack thereof -- can be known simply by swabbing the inside of your cheek," Paul said to a packed sporting arena on Liberty's campus. "Are we prepared to select out the imperfect among us?"

Some states ran eugenics programs that sterilized those considered defective in the 1900s, though all were abandoned by the 1970s after scientists discredited the idea.
