Just got a campaign phone call. Funny.
Jo (Josiah) Bonner is 'my' repug congressman running for his 6th term.
He's running against President Obama if you watch his TV commercials.
Socialist agenda, raised taxes, Obamacare, etc, ad nauseum.
The district is bright red, so he'll probably win again.
(There are 2 repugs running against him, and NO Democrat.)
The call:
"I'm calling for Jo Bonner, blah, blah, blah.
Socialist, raised taxes, Obamacare, blah, blah, blah."
I just let her read her script and listened to her whole spiel.
"Can Jo count on your support?"
"Wait a minute, Obama RAISED taxes? When was that?"
"Uh...I don't have that information."
"He's a SOCIALIST? I thought he was a Democrat."
"He IS a Democrat."
"Well, do you know there IS a Socialist Party in the United States? I don't think he's associated with them."
OK, sir. Can we count on your support for Jo Bonner next week?"
"Not if he thinks Obama's a Socialist."
"Thank you, sir. This message was paid for by Jo Bonner for Congress."
"Well, bless his heart."
