My almost 12 year old son is starting to get those pre-teen hormonal attacks!

Another DUer mentioned her 15 year old son's hormonal attacks in a great thread about how HE has more of a clue than rush limbooger.

My son worked in his first campaign in 2010 when he canvassed with me to attempt to get Libby Mitchell elected Governor of Maine. He is a young man that a friend trusted enough to come out to at the end of his 5th grade year because he knew that my son is a true friend. He will be working along side of his mom and I this year to get President Obama re-elected, put a Democrat in olympia snowe's seat and to keep the House seat in Democratic hands as well as to get the state legislature back.

That being said, he is very young and those hormones are starting to HOP. I pulled a dirty trick on him a few days ago.

He asked when he'd be able to watch "a movie with a lot of boobs in it". I told him that I'd put on a DVD with "a lot of boobs in it".

I played "Farenheit 911" for him and pointed out a LOT of boobs like bush, cheney, rumsfeld, wolfowitz, etc.

He went from very thrilled to very pissed VERY QUICKLY, but he did see the humor in it. He can always appreciate a joke, even when it's a good natured one at his expense. He WILL get me back for that one, however.

I just thought I'd share. I thought it was funny; a little cruel, but FUNNY! It's my 2 cents and quite possibly overpriced at that!

PEACE!

1. Good on you for showing him real boobs.

Oh, and good luck with all those raging teenage hormones - you are going to need it.

2. Kick and recommend.

Based on my experience of 12-year-old boys, I suggest team sports, horse-back riding, dance, something high-energy physical, to 'run off' some of that hormonal energy.

BTW, my experience had to do with fending them off; not raising/rearing them.

Good Luck!

8. Thank you, Cerridwen.

I had 5 interviews last week and at least 2 this week. I'm very hopeful and trying to stay positive.

Thank you for the good wishes.

PEACE!

19. Good luck.

If you were closer I might try to find a bike for you to help out, but even if I could the prospect of getting it to Maine would probably cost as much as buying a bike locally.

22. Horse back riding has a major benefit - lots of girls ride horses

A very few young men. If money is tight, see if he can work in exchange for lessons and riding time. That will burn off excess energy and develop muscles - the better to impress all those girls.

The young man who works here at my farm never has a problem having very attractive young women to hang out with and that's been true since I met him four years ago when he was fourteen.

Another benefit for either boys or girls is that working with animals like horses teaches control and assertiveness.

It's hard to believe him when he laughs while he says it, though.

PEACE!

9. Love the relationship you seem to have

with your son, Marian. Just keep laughing with each other--laughter is such a balm to the spirit.
When I was growing up, a good belly laugh was too rare a thing in my family and I regret it to this day...

11. Even during the hardest times our family has had,...

...we've always been able to laugh!

He's a great kid, my wife is a great woman, I make a good cheeseburger.

I've always believed that our family is blessed.

Thank you.

PEACE!

Maybe next time, a book of boobies.

15. Unless you have older kids you should be warned

You're about to enter the twilight zone of trying to understand your teenage kid. You will fail.

17. I think you should buy him a Playboy for his 12th birthday.

And then sit down and look at it with him and discuss the various attributes of the young ladies.

(I am only half kidding).

The stopper is that I think my wife might de-ball me if I did.

I'd do that with her approval and probably throw in a box of tissues for the boy to enjoy.

PEACE!

21. It is perfectly natural for adolescent boys to like looking at boobs. Nothing wrong with it

whatsoever. Better to look at ones in a magazine developed for that purpose. Takes away the "forbidden fruit" aspect of the endeavor and the lad will grow up better adjusted. I had to content myself with furtive looks at the Montgomery Wards catalog lingerie section and the National Geographic when I was a lad.

23. You don't need to do Playboy.

I just got the new Vogue and it was full of nearly naked models and some semi-exposed "boobs".
