Where were Boehner & Santorum when Limbaugh encouraged the murder of protesters at Camp Casey?

On August22, 2005, as I was driving home from the Camp Casey protest outside Crawford, I had the occasion to hear the "number one voice of conservatism" give this description of those of us protesting "in the ditches" outside Crawford:

"How many of you could take a week or two off or whatever and hang around a ditch?
I mean, where do these people work? First question I always ask: What do they do for a living? Where do they get their money? Donations, folks, donations. They're glad handlers, they're glorified beggars, they're down there raising money during all of this. At one point I saw today Sheehan's website is getting 25 grand a day. Now you got a bunch of caterers down there and Joan Baez is down there and Joan Baez is down there strumming out the tunes, but the Washington politicians are not joining them down there, and this is upsetting....

"The Texans are very patient people, but the real Texans are not the people in that ditch down there. REAL TEXANS ARE PUTTING ON THEIR CAMOUFLAGE GEAR AND GETTING READY TO GO OUT THERE AND GO HUNTING, you know, hunting season is coming up. AT SOME POINT REAL TEXANS ARE GOING TO GET FED UP WITH WHAT'S GOING ON DOWN THERE AND IT'S GOING TO GET REAL FUN TO WATCH, IF YOU GET MY DRIFT, ...a-hem..."

- - - Rush Limbaugh, August 22, 2005, discussing the Camp Casey antiwar demonstrations in the roads & ditches outside Crawford, Texas

In August, 2005, John Boehner & Rick Santorum, not to mention every other elected Republican, made nary a peep.

Nor did they correct the record when, in 2011, in the aftermath of the attempted assassination of Rep. Giffords, Limbaugh lied that neither he nor "anyone" had ever advocated violence "or even subtly promoted it".

Nor did Boehner or Santorum bat an eye when Jim David Adkisson, inspired by the books of Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity & Michael Savage, murdered 2 (& shot 7 more) at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville, specifically explaining that since "he could not get to the leaders of the liberal movement that he would then target those that had voted them in to office."

For over two decades the Republican Party has not only tolerated, but centered its entire political strategy, around the most vile, hate-filled, pseudo-populist propaganda mill to have emerged in the last 67 years.

Rush Limbaugh has been at the center of the Hate Radio/Fox "News"/Clear Channel axis.

As long this strategy was working, Boehner and Santorum could care less if "conservatism's number one spokesperson" required cochlear implants for deafness from Oxycontin abuse, maintained his chickenhawk status by claiming anal cysts, gets busted with fraudulently prescribed Viagra after a weekend get-away to a sex tourism mecca, or "jokes" about murdering those of us protesting an illegal, fraudulent war.

After decades of Republican celebration of Limbaugh's lies, insults, and crimes, it now (belatedly) appear that, now that the decades old GOP strategy of hate and ignorance is wearing thin, that a denigrating insult to 50% of the voting public, an insult that threatens to drive the GOP into the trash bin of history in which it has earned its place, has now caused at least 2 Republican rats to try to abandon their sinking ship.

OK its a local joke.

Henry Clay brought the recipe for the Mint Julep to the Robin Nest bar in the 1840's.

It takes ten minutes to make and you can suck on it for 20 -30 minutes.

It is the finest drink I have ever had.
