OBAMACARE DAY ONE: My hideous experience

So, I got an email from my employer this morning. They went through what Iím assuming is the normal process of having the Department of Labor analyze the health insurance plan they offer to us, their employees.

The verdict: ďaffordableĒ.

I can keep my employer-based insurance. I can keep my doctors. I donít need to go to Healthcare.gov to sign up for ďgovernment-run health careĒ.

Absolutely nothing changes for me.

Just. As. Advertised.

UPDATE: Itís now after 3:00 p.m. and I havenít lost my employer-based health insurance yet.

You know, itís the waiting that kills you.

P.S. From our inestimable webhost Charles Gaba, some sound advice if you ARE signing up for Obamacare:

Also, if you find yourself needing to talk to someone to get help with signing up, be nice to them. They are getting slammed right now and taking a lot of grief even though they are there to help. Itís not their fault that the website was literally getting a million hits an hour today.

5. Watch out, there may be a death panel under your pillow tonight, you must believe sister Sarah.

Michelle Bachman could be staring through your kitchen window with those crazy eyes and even crazier brain. All manner of ills may befall you because Obamacare kicked in today.

7. Same here..

But we only need the coverage at work until April, when I turn 65 Yay!!!.. Then my poor husband can retire & start on medicare for both of us..

A 25 yr old guy with a 19 yr old "chickie" seemed like a great idea, UNTIL he realized it meant working 6 years longer at the end
