They are losing their faithful. If they are exempt in their organizations from providing birth control, they will STILL attempt to challenge it. Look at Gay Marriage in states where it has passed. Are they exempt from marrying gay couples? Yes. Why are they still fighting it when they don't have to marry gays? If you give them an inch, they will take a MILE. They want POWER to force their views on a secular government. EVERYONE must be subject to THEIR religious views. That is not freedom of religion, or more importantly, freedom FROM religion.
Be careful. We are threading a very, very fine line to a Theocracy with these extremists of CHIRSTIAN religions.

The term was coined during the English Reformation to denote a person whose loyalties were to the Pope, rather than to the Church of England. Over time, however, the term came to mean one who supported Papal authority over all Christians; it thus entered widespread use, especially among Anglicans and Presbyterians.

(14,337 posts)and became a Catholic when he married my Irish Catholic Grandma. Personally, I don't think he really cared. He was not religious at all. He just converted to please his wife.
I found out a while ago that he was baptized after death into the LDS church. Am I outraged over this? No, because I knew Grandpa and knew he could have cared less who claimed him as one of their flock. If anything, Grandpa would have considered himself an Agnostic in life.
