Christian Post: GOP Too Intelligent For Average Voter, Will Win By Shaming Women Who Seek An Abortion
Submitted by Brian Tashman on Tuesday, 9/17/2013 12:05 pm
Conservatism is too cerebral for many Americans, writes Rachel Alexander at the Christian Post. She claims that Republicans continue to lose elections because people are lazy and simply not smart enough to understand why Democrats are wrong on the issues. While Americans deep down prefer shows like Duck Dynasty, they're allowing the left to win on social issues, Alexander said. Republicans need to quit lamenting over the backwards fact that the most intelligent party is not the most successful. One way to change to turn the tide and improve the GOPs image as a cold and heartless party, she writes, is to shame women who seek an abortion: Portray the woman who wants to abort her baby as cruel and selfish, and showcase those children who grew up with permanent injuries as a result of an attempted, botched abortion. These kinds of portrayals must be done frequently and everywhere.

(11,804 posts)Alexander isn't writing to us or to American Centrists - her audience is the right wing base, telling them that they are the best and should have all the things they want.
And that base is pretty sure to reward her financially for telling them what they want to hear.

(19,348 posts)The right wing war on women, minorities, secular, non-christians, etc...is costing the GOP.
For the record, 2 Broke Girls is slightly ahead of Dingbat Dynasty.

A new study by the Pew Research Center finds that the GOP is alienating scientists to a startling degree.
Only six percent of America's scientists identify themselves as Republicans; fifty-five percent call themselves Democrats. By comparison, 23 percent of the overall public considers itself Republican, while 35 percent say they're Democrats.

(4,788 posts)shame women who are seeking to terminate a pregnancy and label them as selfish. So tell me again Ms. Alexander how conservatism is too cerebral for me? I'm only a member of MENSA so you could be correct.

Do I need to go on? In every significant legal and/or social issue of the day, you can find conservatives on the wrong side of the debate.
Conservatism is unnatural in the purest context. They oppose change, and the one absolute constant of the universe IS change.

(20,833 posts)if life sucks and you blame a philosophy seldom tried while ignoring the policies that are actually in place... that's really dumb. You are also likely a voting Republican. Hey we've been rolling back abortion rights for 40 years. What life is still not a magical wonderland. Lets discuss raping women with ultrasonic probes for no medical reason. Maybe that will work!

(11,360 posts)I would have thought that to "showcase those children who grew up with permanent injuries as a result of an attempted, botched abortion" would be a good argument for keeping abortion safe and legal, since it would help to avoid such complications. I guess I'm just not smart enough to understand their "reasoning".
