Picture of Sammie's arrest along with others for an immigration reform demonstration organized by We Belong Together. That smile as she's loaded into the police vehicle is a smile for justice!
Why we're risking arrest over immigration
http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/12/opinion/poo-oneill-immigration-reform/index.html
<snip>
(CNN) -- On Thursday, we will link arms with more than 100 women and claim the street outside the House of Representatives. We will not move until the House recognizes that women and children are at the heart of the immigration debate, and reform must treat them fairly.
Women and children constitute three-quarters of all immigrants to the United States, but the debate about immigration reform -- which has stalled in the House -- has largely ignored the disproportionate burden they bear in a system that is failing.

Go Sammie!
Here is the Wapo's story on the demonstration: http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/dc-police-arrest-women-blocking-traffic-on-major-thoroughfare-in-protest-for-immigration-bill/2013/09/12/0f7a9610-1bbb-11e3-80ac-96205cacb45a_story.html

In the best civil obedience actions, the protesters have taken pride in being arrested. Cheers to your cousin.
I'm talking about the context of large group actions rather than individual protest.
