The chemical weapons were just a pretext. If that pretext is removed, they'll gin up another. Putin exposed that.

ending war in Iraq? Continuing to end war in Afghanistan? Refusing to get drawn into conflict with Syria or Iran like the war hawks wanted? Refusal to take a point role on Libya but also providing air support and missile/artillery fire in support of Libyan rebels?
