(4,795 posts)Otherwise, what you and I think means fuck all to the ruling elite, insofar as we keep buying their cheap ass shit at the department stores

(19,326 posts)why didn't i think of that.
It REALLY helps to know the actual unvarnished numbers -- up or down, yes or no -- on attacking Syria.

(62,325 posts)these issues. They've done it many times, utilizing the RULE OF LAW. There is no need and never was any need, for bombs.
The US for some reason is afraid to present its 'evidence' before the World.

(18,115 posts)A few here keep equating "No Bombs" to "Turning a blind eye" or being "Pro Gas" as if there are no other options.

(62,325 posts)Using Cluster Bombs to kill people just shopping at the market, IS Illegal, where was the intervention?
We have enough of our own War Crimes to deal with, however what we 'won't tolerate' in other countries, we have zero problem with right here at home.

(13,390 posts)But, I accept that the administration knows more than I.
Iraq was a no brainer. I think this is more similar to Libya which I was reasonably comfortable with.
I think that this is a tough decision and I'm glad I'm not a part of making it. So, I accept that it is an action that has been thought out by people who know more than I do. I do fear the consequences.

(3,891 posts)Warlords are in control of much of the country, and the Prime Minister is threatening to bomb his own ports. That should knock your comfort rating down a notch or two.

(23,329 posts)...
99Forever
(14,524 posts)... you aren't even polling 10%.
How's it feel to suck worse than Congress?
Hydra
(14,459 posts)That should push it to 12%. You always have the insiders and the people who think they'll benefit as the biggest number.
... "the biggest number" (by a HUGE margin) are opposed. Just in case you didn't notice.
Hydra
(14,459 posts)I meant that we haven't heard from the pro's yet, and we don't have a lot of freepers here. That won't make a majority, but it will make the usual 25-30% the 1% count on to do their work.
I doubt it. The pro numbers have actually gone down since I voted about an hour ago, from 8% to 6%.
Hydra
(14,459 posts)The "professionals" of the board haven't voted. I know of at least 5 that are bombing the boards that aren't on that list. The usual number Bush could count on was 25-30%: 1%, their lackeys and wannabees(5%), The people in the services(10%) and 10-15% from RW Fundies.
Without the fundies, you only get 16%. If the 5-10 I'm thinking of were to vote now, that would put it somewhere around there.
Someone either didn't do the math on this(You need the 25-30% + uncertainty to pass bad policy safely), or they didn't care.
99Forever
(14,524 posts)We'll see how it shakes out.

(19,326 posts)House members are polling 10-1 against attacking Syria too,
and public input to Congressional Reps is "99 to one", against attacking.
Hydra
(14,459 posts)are the 1%, their lackeys, and the people they've duped. Usually the Repubs and Freeper citizens would provide support, but this is coming from a Black Dem President, not a White Asshole election thief, so they can't be counted on to show up.

(166 posts)I support a limited military attack designed to only be able to ascertain the existence of evidence of poison gas or other gas.

(28,270 posts)Al quida is our enemy. If we attack Syria we will help those fanatic scum take over that country!
Not to mention the fact that a country that lets its own elders and children STARVE has no fucking business throwing billions of dollars down yet another ME shithole!
45,000 people a year DIE in America EVERY FREAKIN YEAR for lack of healthcare...one person every 12 minutes!!...when the hell do we start bombing the RNC? They make Assad look like a little school girl!

(11,785 posts)enough to not really be a war, and that can be paid for by extant Pentagon discretionary funding and/or Arab countries? No, I'm withholding my support until they tell me whether it's a floor wax or a dessert topping.
