Jim Greer sues former party attorney over severance deal
His attorney: Greer was so broke, he couldn't afford to fix his septic tank.
Ousted Florida Republican Chairman Jim Greer today sued the law firm of former party attorney Jason Gonzalez, saying Gonzalez drafted a $123,000 severance package, gave Greer advice about it – and then betrayed him.
Greer also today sued another politically connected law firm, GrayRobinson P.A., alleging that it violated attorney-client privilege when it cooperated with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on its investigation that resulted in Greer's indictment on theft, fraud and money laundering charges.
The suits were both filed in state circuit court in Tallahassee and seek unspecified damages.
Neither firm had an immediate response.
