GRAND RAPIDS Long-time GOP donors Dick and Betsy DeVos lead an Amway-related contingent making a late entry to the Michigan Republican primary in support of Mitt Romney, according to Politico.
Romney, a Michigan native, has enjoyed widespread backing among elected leaders statewide, but the DeVos difference could help -- despite not coming until election day.
In a message obtained by Politico, DeVos and Van Andel family members call Romney a leader who stands for economic freedom, hope and opportunity.
Its unclear to whom the letter went to, but in addition to carrying Dick and Betsy DeVos name, it is signed by Amway founder Rich DeVos and his wife, Helen, as well as family members Dan, Pam, Doug and Maria DeVos. Cheri VanderWeide, Dick DeVos daughter, also is on the list.

That suggests weak support.
DeVos and VanAndel families are members of either the Reformed or Christian Reformed churches, which are very conservative and very Calvinist.
I'm wondering whether Romney's Mormon faith is a problem for them.
