Mitt's challenge today: to make Ford Field with 65,000 seats seem full with 1200 people

It won't be hard to fit 1,200 members of the Detroit Economic Club into 65,000-seat Ford Field for today's speech by GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney.

What will be hard is making it look like Romney isn't speaking to a nearly empty stadium.

The Romney campaign and the Economic Club think they've solved the problem. The guests will be seated at one end of the playing surface, roughly between the end zone and the 30-yard line, while Romney will speak from a stage in front of them.

About 100 news media representatives and 50 or so TV cameras will set up behind the guests, so that it will be clear Romney is speaking to a crowd. He is scheduled to speak at 12:15 p.m., and there will be a strolling lunch later, organizers said.

In Star Wars they dyed them different colors. For the GOP, white will do just fine.

He was in a concert scene, in the back. They used plywood silhouettes and people (one human for every ten cut outs) to give some movement in the background. That probably wouldn't work with good lighting.
