Well this is interesting
===
Debate fatigue? A recent USA Today/Gallup poll released yesterday shows a whopping 70% of Americans are solidly opposed to the neverending reality show known as the 2012 presidential campaign, or at least cant wait for it to be over. The desperation for the campaigns to end transcends ideological boundaries, geography, and age, with men being slightly less averse to the whole thing.
The poll shows some interesting albeit depressing points of unison among Americans 67% of Democrats and 66% of Republicans want the campaign to be over. Also according to Gallup, all key subgroups look forward more to the campaigns end than its beginning, but some slightly less so than others. For example, men (31%) are more likely than women (21%) to say they cant wait for the campaign to begin.

But there is a silver lining for newswatchers who are desperately seeking an end to this campaign season: only thirteen months to go before we can start seriously thinking about the 2016 presidential race!

Only problem, once the 2012 elections are finished, it move right into 2014 campaign season. They just don't stop to govern any more.

Anyway, watching the R debates is a health hazard, and especially the last one on GOP TV, AKA Fox. My IQ has been dropping and my BP going up!

(3,539 posts)Its kind of fun watching that Republican clown car demolition derby down their in the center ring. I mean you can sort of 'time' John Stewarts jokes, but you never know what foolishnes Bachmann might blither about god and Isreal next. And they have 10 more to go. Sombodys going to hall off and hit someone. And the fun hasent even started yet. Sooner or later one of them will have to face the master.
Keep telling you're self its only a movie, its only a movie.
Now picture Rick Perry debating Obama.
Drinking game! Have a shot everytime Perry says Ooops.

(14,180 posts)at Bachmann. From the look of utter malevolence on his face (while she was bringing forward the $1.6 million he received from Freddie and Fannie), I could swear he was thinking "You f***ng c**t".

(1,374 posts)And the local paper, which is right wing, has wasted tons of newsprint expaining how Bachmann or Santorum have a chance. The paper fawns over everything the candidates say. I am so looking forward to the caucuses being over.

(6,785 posts)Watching a pack of morons sneer at each other on TV was fun. For about two days. These people need professional help, not fawning media attention.
I'm guessing the 33% of Democrats that don't want it to end are thinking that the longer the GOPers have to rip each other the more likely their guy is to lose in the general, and they're probably right. Still, someone should think of the children and the example this sets for them. Do we really want the message "Look Tim! If you're stupid and crazy enough you can be rich and famous too!" hammered into our kids heads? It doesn't help that the message appears to be correct. That looks to be the path to at the very least a Fox slot. (I'm joking of course, I don't actually care about the children.)
Seriously, though. Ten more debates from people who only know like twenty sentences? Ugh.
