At Saturday’s debate in the race for Virginia governor, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli did not back down from comments he had made previously attacking gays and lesbians.

Debate moderator Judy Woodruff of PBS Newshour had asked Cuccinelli if he still believed being gay is “against nature” and “harmful to society,” the Washington Post reports.

“My personal beliefs about the personal challenges of homosexuality haven’t changed,” Cuccinelli replied.

“The notion that because I believe marriage ought to be protected, because I believe life begins at conception — just like hundreds of thousands of independents and Democrats — this isn’t just me, it isn’t just Republicans,” he continued. “There are lots of Virginians, millions, perhaps, of Virginians, who share my sincerely held beliefs.”

Look at that photo and remember that face. Please make sure that he does not get elected governor. His candidate for Lt. Governor is equally extremist. Cuccinelli is also advocating a ban on oral and anal sex in the state.

As for the rest of it, I don't know. I have no plans to move to Virginia, either way. There are a lot of things I like, that other people don't like, and if I really broke it down I'd probably suspect they're missing out tremendously, even though of course we're all different. Cuccinelli is claiming that, "oh, this law can't be used against consenting adults"

so a) Why is it so important to him that the government consistently condemn homosexuality to the point of having the right to throw gay people in prison for being gay, and

b) if it's not about consenting private behavior, why did Cuccinelli vote against the amendment to SB 477 which would have explicitly exempted that from the law?

He can't have it both ways. ('phrasing!') He can't argue that he's not interested in busting into peoples' bedrooms and arresting them for consensual adult sex, and then vote explicitly to retain that specific right for the government.

Bottom line, if Virginians want their tax dollars to go to a squad of state fuck police rounding up and arresting every adult who has oral sex in their bedroom, they should vote for this Jesus bagger, because that is clearly and important core of his values, agenda and platform.
