with the addition of this:
Trayvon saw the gun and decided not to run.. He hollered for help, in hopes that SOMEONE would exit their house & make themselves seen by the gunman (whom he did not know)...he probably hoped that the gunman who had pursued him, would run off..and he (Trayvon) would be safe..
Had he been older and more savvy, he might have hung up from his friend, and called 911 himself to report a weird guy following him home..
Teen boys being what they are, would probably not call the police though, thinking that they could run from the guy or make it home before the guy caught up...
I wish he had.. ...and then perhaps shouted at Z....."I'm calling the cops on you......stop following me"..
