(2,791 posts)If Zimmerman looked like that photo, he would've spent the night of 2/26/12 in jail and been indicted within the week. For murder.

(3,660 posts)Also If this is the case I am thinking of the suspect in the bottom pic was sentenced to a reduce sentence.

Same people, same incident, races reversed.
I remember seeing that same graphic once before, and some posters stated that the pic on the bottom was portraying a similar case somewhere in the country that was gang related and a fight that resulted in a murder. Wasn't sure 100% if that true or not.

(57,936 posts)Time for a subconscious check.
That the bottom pictures might be from a gang-related crime never occurred to me.
Why would anyone immediately associate the bottom picture with a gang-related crime or trial?
I don't want to be rude, but maybe that is something to think about.
This may not be the case for you, but for some people who associate those pictures with a gang crime but not the top pictures, it might have to do with racism. I apologize genuinely if I am wrong.
We all need to check our consciences from time to time.

(3,660 posts)And several posters stated that the bottom pic was an actual crime that "did take place" and was gang related. I can't find the post or remember the name of the white kid that was killed, but only that apparently this white kid was killed by a small gang of kids - that consisted of both white and black kids. My point of my post, which was obviously not made, was that if this pic on the bottom was of an actual crime that was "gang related" it would be like comparing apple to oranges. In the case of Zimmerman this was a situation where there was, as far as anyone knows, where neither the killer nor the victim had any apparent motive, other than "race". In the other case, which now apparently as it turns out is not what is depicted in this picture, had a motive of several kids that had been already involved in several altercations at school. That was what I was referring to by the circumstances were different. I was actually trying to make the case that the initial investigation into the Martin murder was worse because it was so obvious that the case couldn't have been about anything else other than race.

Really? I mean. Really. What "motive" could the victim have? Of course, the answer is he had none and didn't need to have any. If there is any talk of motives here, they all have to do with the killer, not the victim.
Now let's see if I can come up with a motive other than race, to call into question your false dichotomy... let's see.. hmm.. delusions of grandeur, psychopathy, schitzoprenia, side effects of mood altering drugs upon which the killer was dependent. Oh, then there's the gleeful joy of getting to use that gun finally, after years of training and eager copy-copping - finally, that gun would get to literally shoot its load into a young boy.
Oh there are so many possible motives other than race that it makes one's head spin. So why the willful blindness on your part? We know why, don't we? You refuse to face the facts that the killer is just that, a killer, a perpetrator of a heinous crime and someone who needs to be punished and face the consequences of his actions.
Yeah, THAT's right.

(8,515 posts)I just took a glimpse of the Z. Photo...Not interested..many assumptions could be made..
The Martin photo comparison says it all.. Unbelievable.. If he looked like this, Zimmerman would have already pleaded and been serving a 25 yr sentance.

(1,741 posts)I've been following all this off and on since it started and I didn't know until today that that red shirt photo was taken just months before Trayvon was killed. I knew, of course, that the fake Trayvon photos were fake. But somehow I was duped by the right wing smear machine into thinking that this photo was of Trayvon at a much younger age. I knew the media mostly stopped using that photo at some point. I didn't know it was only to placate the Zimmerman defenders rather than because anything was wrong with the picture.

(13,409 posts)You may say you're not, but you ARE advocating for George Zimmerman. You're suggesting that because more recent pictures of Trayvon Martin feature a "gangsta grill", he deserved to be murdered. As if what Trayvon Martin wears has any bearing on whether or not he was murdered. That's disgusting, racist garbage.

(7,318 posts)keeps saying that Trayvon was a football player when in fact he had last played at age 13 in a community rec league with the neighborhood boys at his local park.
Zimmerman's team publicized that photo of Trayvon at age 13, in his Hollister Community Rec football shirt, to make the jury pool believe that Trayvon was an athletically fit big black football player (you're supposed to think NFL bruiser...) Did you just hear O'Mara push that sick shit to the jury in closing?
If that photo was used to advantage by the prosecution...well that's what happens when Zimmy's attorney's, family and internet minions try to push false info...they got push back with the very info they used to try and poison the well.
Don't like it? Well live with it...Trayvon never got to.

(82,383 posts)where white people can see what they'd look like as black. Then use the photos in various situations and see how they are treated differently. Vice versa would be interesting too.
