Did Snowden turn down Venezuela offer for asylum?

I read that earlier today but it doesn't make sense? Simply because, beggars cannot be choosey. I cannot believe this story. Did anyone else hear this?

Why would he turn down an offer from Venezuela? Sounds like somebody is leapfrogging some propaganda?

I doubt it. If he was turning it down, he wouldn't have sent the official paperwork in Catherina Jul 2013 #2

If he was turning it down, he wouldn't have sent the official paperwork in after they made the offer.

I think they just figured it's none of our damn business and want to keep us confused until he gets where he needs to be.

That they are not going to say when he is leaving or which direction he is going? Keep 'em guessing. Putin is good at deception. No doubt, the US has a satellite overhead and the Russian flight schedules in their hands. If any plane leaves that is not on the schedule, they will know it.

My guess would be that they would take the long way over the Pacific thru Vladivostok. They will not have to fly over any European countries, even though it will be more than twice as far, would be my guess?

A Russian lawmaker said he had accepted, them deleted the tweet. Wiki leaks is promoting a campaign that will start tomorrow. I think they/Snowden want to control the message and will make the announcement. It should be clearer tomorrow. It is expensive to move a high profile leaker, they are going to need funding.

Wikileaks/Snowden may be a lot cannier than they're being given credit for (with some help from Putin, of course).

When the nail isn't going in easily with a tack hammer, the US approach (all too often) is to grab a bigger hammer -- but sometimes, the problem is that they're trying to hammer in the wrong nail.
