Bush: I don't speak much with Obama

<snip>

"Former president George W. Bush confirmed something we all suspected: He doesn't speak much with President Obama.

"He's busy ... and I'm retired," Bush told ABC's This Week in a taped interview.

There's also the fact that the Democratic Obama and the Republican Bush might not have that much to talk about.

The two presidents did meet up last week in Africa, as Obama made a diplomatic trip and Bush and wife Laura traveled to promote a program to fight cervical cancer.

The two leaders participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the U.S. Embassy in Tanzania, site of a terrorist attack in 1998."

1. It's mind blowing that in the line of US Presidents it goes from Clinton to Junior to Obama.

Then again, he was in Africa on the kind of trip that resonates with his actions as president.

For all the controversy, he vastly increased numerous kinds of aid to Africa over what Clinton had offered. Esp. aid for helping to prevent or treat AIDS. It was decreased in the final 2009 budget, IIRC--the one that he didn't sign off on. And kept lower in 2010.

The slow-go war in south Sudan saw a treaty mostly because of his White House's initiative. It had gone on for all of Clinton's tenure. Powers, "Miss I-Hate-Genocide," completely skipped that one. She went from self-flagellation over Rwanda, skipping S. Sudan, to proceed straight to Darfur.

I wouldn't be surprised if Obama was in regular contact with the Clintons though.

Well, OTOH, he could get a good laugh from some of the Bushisms. Is our children learning? Our enemies never stop thinking of new ways to harm us, and neither do we.
