Syria: Red Crescent volunteers save lives as situation deteriorates

The humanitarian situation in Syria has worsened, especially in Homs and Al Zabadani, with thousands fleeing to Bludan to escape fighting in the nearby city of Zabadani. Volunteers from the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) are working flat out to save lives, while ICRC and SARC teams rush vital aid to everyone affected by the violence.

Zabadani Valley, Syria. An SARC convoy en route to the town of Madaya near the Syrian/Lebanese border. The convoy included a mobile clinic plus four ambulances, and carried food parcels, hygiene kits and blankets for hundreds of families in the cities of Bludan and Madaya.
