Fred Hiatt Splits the Conscience of Liberals in Two
By Charles P. Pierce

Liberals are not often happy with Fred Hiatt, editorial-page pajandrum of The Washington Post, a once-great newspaper now d/b/a a low-paying adjunct of the educational testing industry. Liberals feel that Fred is not living up to the high standards of journalism, what with his giving gigs to people like Marc Thiessen, a former Bush adminstration hack and torture apologist, and Michael Gerson, a Christozany who also once worked for former president C-Plus Augustus, putting the verbs in the former president's sentences for him. This is too bad, because Fred is just trying to help liberals out of their various conundrums. And so here he is today, coming out of the oh-so-very-responsible anonymity that protects the essential integrity of the Post's editorial page with some really bad writing under his own name, seeking only to help liberals find their way:

Conservatives are getting the attention as they duke it out in this GOP primary season. But on a surprising range of issues, there’s an important, if quieter, conflict between two progressive camps.

(Yes, but the fight in the GOP is over 27 different flavors of lunacy. As Paul Krugman pointed out today, your current Republican frontrunner last year was sticking up for the reputation of The Crusades. Pope Urban II, victim of the liberal media. The substantive difference between the "conflicts" is the difference between people who fingerpaint on the walls with their own poop, and people raising their voices at Starbucks. It counts as a difference that one side is nuts.)

The entire column is a must-read.

It makes me want to have at least one state we can move to and be progressive
without a lot of flack from some moron waving a bible.

I just responded to a post where the person said that evolution was difficult to understand.

Maybe I need to go to an island somewhere....

Does anyone else have any suggestions?
