Fox News Commenters Respond to Whitney Houston’s Death With Deluge of Hatred and Racism

I saw the same garbage over in freeper land...

I don’t even know what to say about this any more. There’s a real sickness running rampant in the right wing; the Fox News comment thread on Whitney Houston’s death is yet another disgusting deluge of outright racism: Singer Whitney Houston Dies at 48 | Fox News.

There are almost 5000 comments posted in the thread — these are from the first few pages. Notice that the racist bastards deliberately misspell their slurs or insert random spaces, so they aren’t caught by word filters. And many of the worst comments have numerous “likes” from other commenters.

Their message boards seem to trend that way as well.

It's a very sad comment on our society that racism is still so prevalent.

pigs.

I just stay away from junk like that to stay sane.

"Nice" of the racists to come out before Halloween like this, so many months before the election.

Hopefully, the decent people of America will show up on election day in force, and make these racist slime Fox News viewers realize what a small minority they actually are.

I was stunned by the level of rampant cruelty and racism. I would hope that they are not indicative of the general feeling of FOX viewers and bloggers, but the fact that these comments made it through and were not reported and deleted for being abusive makes me uneasy. Of course, none of those people making those comments will sign their real names to them. What kind of role models must they be to their children?

I don't read comment sections on Yahoo! or YouTube (usually), because the comments are usually horrid.

the degree of hatred, the undisguised racism, I just can't believe it.

I thought today's racists communicated using "code words" like "states rights" or "food stamp", etc, but these comments don't disguise anything.

They appeal to bigots. As far as they're concerned, they've done their job.

You'd think they could set the filters to catch that double 'q', which never appears in our country's offical language.
