10. These guys need to think back to 2004

The fact is that President Obama is now a known quality. Even if they found an embarrassing tape, it would not matter - it was decades ago and President Obama, the President is very well defined.

Why 2004, in the first build up of the Rather story, the NYT polled Bush voters and they found that no matter how irresponsible he was or how flaky his NG service was, there was absolutely no loss. It was no longer important to assessing if he "could" be President. Even if people would have found video of Bush doing cocaine or being extremely drunk - it no longer mattered - it was not "now".
