Well, here I am in Dallas to be with The People's Response to protest the bush latrine known as his "library".
am here to represent Boston Veterans For Peace, (Smedley Butler Bde/Samantha Smith Chapter) in this unholy alliance w/bush and SMU. Tomorrow has various workshops and other items, but the real deal is when we all dress in black and march silently when the living presidents show up at SMU for the "Grand Opening".
Rumor has it that several citations have already been given out to VFP members and Codepink members, but I can't confirm that is the case. I will know more tomorrow when I get downtown and talk to people involved. I don't know Dallas at all, but I'm told I can take the DART from a couple of blocks away and zip right downtown. I'm wondering where the "First Amendment Zone" will be, but have been told SMU gave us the lawn directly across from the outhouse, I mean library.
I'll get some pics up as I can, I suspect security will be tight and we might be herded into another area, time will tell.
In any case, we expect to be heard/seen and let bush know that he is by far, the dumbest president we've ever had.
Anyone in the Dallas area should drop by and show our disdain for this pinhead. More can be found at:

Hope to see some DUer's, look for the VFP flags, I'll be under one of them.

(1,367 posts)We met them at Camp Casey. They said that the whole gang was coming to Dallas for the Bush Library event. I can't go because of physical problems, but I lent may small generator for projections of slogans (war criminal) against the building. If you see them thank me for my small contribution.

(90,627 posts)Belonging to VFP Chapter 54 during the Bush years was a sanity-saver for me. (Supporting member, not a vet myself.) They're still planting the crosses of Arlington West on the local beach.
Good luck!

I've always been a Democrat, but it was the Bush presidency that really pushed me over the edge and got me into being politically active.

I was wondering when this request would show up. You beat me to it, but maybe the double bird can fly, one for you and one for me.

(83,130 posts)checked map, but it's close enough to Mockingbird Station where we are forming up about a block away. Going to see Body Of War tonight at the Angelika Film Center. Saw it once in Boston, but there is a Skype setup tonight w/Tomas, and Phil Donohue is in town for this, he was at the meeting this morning.
People still showing up at the hotel for tomorrow, people are coming in from everywhere.

And tis great that Donahue will be there!
Fantastic that people are determined to haunt the name and memory of America's unindicted war criminals, which is as it should be till the day they die.
Hell, I am still made at Nixon!

(2,596 posts)Currently still serving USCGR, so couldn't even if I had the time. But hopefully those of you who are willing to take the first step will find others following behind until we reach a tipping point and sane people will take over running the world.
When I see people like you stand up first it always reminds me of the song "Spirit of Man" from Jeff Waynes muscial version of "War of the Worlds"...
God be with you...
Be safe...
