(18,670 posts)...and tv episodes where the crime is solved in 1 hour have really brainwashed us. It doesn't work that way in real life, though. Most crimes go unsolved, and most criminals (barring the really high profile ones) get away with it. And then you have to question whether the authorities who are under tremendous pressure to catch someone are really getting the right person.
When someone is throwing a pressure cooker bomb at you, you give them a little leeway, even if you're a cop. Bombs trump guns every time. Apparently that was enough. Someone is either hiding him against their will, or willingly.
Oh no. I can't stop. Armchair sleuthing really is addictive.
