The only major fuck-ups have been in the media and the internet vigilante squad thus far.

Don't get me wrong, the attack was awful and one innocent victim is too many; still, it could have been a whole lot worse. Or is it too premature to say that?

2. I know when I went to bed last night, everybody had it all wrong

It was the missing Brown student and some Ethiopian guy. Today I flipped on the set when I rose up to something approximating consciousness to find out it was a couple of immigrant Chechnyan kids. I'd just like to know which one was the leader and which one was the follower. It seems like neither one of them enjoyed any close friendships except with each other.

I was a teenager from hell who liked to blow shit up, so I understand part of where they're coming from. What I don't get is the mentality that plants this stuff in crowds. An unused outhouse I can understand perfectly. People, I don't.

As for the police response, today they all look like they're standing around with their thumbs up their butts, jittery from too much coffee and too few cigarette breaks. But again, these are the guys who usually sit in the offices, the real work is being done out of sight.

I don't know what was at work to loosen the screws of these two guys. I just hope the younger one is taken alive so they can find out.
