Thanks due to the local GOP

Sincere thanks.
Today, for the first time ever,in my 59 years,I will leave to go vote in a small local election.I could never be bothered before,to take time out of my day,to vote for such mundane positions as Town Clerk or Highway Commissioner. After 3 decades of rightwing sheer bullshit at every level,it finally sunk in through my thick skull, that these sorry bastards come from somewhere. That they don't just "appear" in Statehouses or in Congress. That they climb through the ranks of lower, local offices, gaining ever more experience in the thuggery, thievery and mutilation of fact that they hope will carry them to even higher office, that they might do even more damage.

That the local GOP has seen fit to mail me a list of exactly who to NOT vote for, though I highly suspect that was not their intention, gives me pause to offer thanks. That they also sent the posting to my daughter and son in law,who are sufficiently and rabidly anti-gop,as are their friends,to make me seem rather tame in comparison, also deserves a thanks. They plan to put their copy of the list to good use also.

I'll be off in a moment to vote for people I've never heard of so other people I've never heard of will, hopefully, not win elected seats I never think about.

So,local GOP,I salute your consideration.

I'm really sorry and ashamed that I never took part at this level, before now.

Low turnout is an understatement. My wife and I were voter numbers 17 and 18 at a poll that's been open for four hours.

One of the Trustees,an r of course, was running unopposed.I couldn't figure out how to cast a write in,didn't see a space to do so,or I would have written myself in.The alternatives were vote for a rethug or leave it blank. It's blank.
