(14,177 posts)Arrests for dancing and barring the press from being there. Unfreaking believable. If it wasn't on tape wait it is on tape and I still have a hard time fathoming such a thing. We no longer have rights as citizens if we ever did perhaps it's been a delusion. In any case it is time for us to demand our first amendment rights now more than ever.

(7,167 posts)It was ALL about whether the cop could impose his will on the demonstrators or not. And of course he couldn't...hell, I would have started dancing too! Those T-shirts should read "U.S. Thought Police" not "U.S. Park Police."

(7,755 posts)will likely get jail for it, will likely lose their job and have a hard time getting hired in the future
i saw armed thugs disrupting otherwise peaceful people and in the usa the armed thugs often get convictions based upon lies.
how much do you want to bet that the protesters will get jail time for "assault on a police officer" and "resisting arrest"?

(11,065 posts)It was a protest demonstration. This is an interview Adam Kokesh did afterward (he's the guy the OP mentioned)...
Info on Adam: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Kokesh

Hope that helps a bit.

(68,644 posts)Defying police orders by dancing in the Jefferson Memorial (and additionally, selfishly, ruining the experience of the place for innocent tourists) has got to be THE most selfish stupid act of pointless faux-demonstrating seen in the year 2011.
Stupid asshats.

(68,644 posts)They'd pull a stunt like this stupid jack-ass spoiled-brat bullshit prank at the Jefferson Memorial.
Going to a quiet solemn place like the Jefferson Memorial to bait police into this kind of behavior, that's a James O'Keefe move right there.
It's a pointless, in fact a counterproductive, act, and it's nothing to be proud of.
Adam Koresh, one of the instigators, is a self promoting talk show host.
I believe in actions that actually advance our causes, not asshattery disruptive childish behaviors designed to make middle class peace officers look stupid.
And that have the added stupidity of ruining what could be a one-in-a-lifetime trip to DC.
Do you care about any of that?
