3. That is awful

Just 53%?

That's a danger zone. Obama better start paying some attention to the suffering 99% or he's gonna be looking for a new job come Jan 13.

Cripes, this is not what I expected when i worked my ass off to get him elected. I guess, most Dems, like myself, are dispirited.

Mr. Obama wake up and smell the problems brewing around he country.
We can't take this top down, trickle on us economy, imprisonment and subjugation to the 15 any longer. We voted for you to lead us away from this and you are failing. The only reason you are at 53% is because of the clowns from the other party.

7. Just ignore it. That poster is living nowhere near reality. 53% is just fine.

Especially considering this climate.

9. Obama should/could be at 75%

Why is he not? *ush at one point was 90%.

Obama should get his bullhorn out and stand on the rubble of the crushed American dream and tell us he's going after those who made this mess.

Why doesn't he?

10. So you compare this with Shrub after 9/11

How odd. Especially after we know how that turned out.

21. Well, that response answers all my questions. I don't even think yours was a serious reply.

But just in case it was, I guess you're very new to politics? Bush was at 90% because of a noun, a verb, and 911.

You are happy he's at just 53%?

Not me, I want him above 75%.

Why isn't he above 75%? What is embarrassing is that he is at 53%.

17. Thats pure political naivety. No President normally has approval ratings like that.

Especially not in this polarized environment. Bush's post 9/11 ratings are an outlier and don't really count when considering the norm.

53% is a healthy approval rating. If the economy was pure gold, I wouldn't expect much better than 60, thats just America.

18. well

Goes to show Obama isn't up to the task of turning America around then.

It is going to take an approval rating above the 60% he had when elected.

Why has he slipped from that, oh great wise one?

19. It typically takes 5 years to recover from a bad recession.

The recession didn't even start to let up until sometime in his second year.

The problem isn't Obama. The problem is your short attention span and instant gratification mindset.

12. 53% is very good at this stage in the election cycle. Not likely to go down and likely will go up

more as we get closer to the conventions and the general election.

13. Bill Clinton's approval rating, 26 January 1996, per Gallup: 52%

21 November 1996: 58%. I probably don't need to tell you how that election turned out.

14. Yeah

And then he was impeached by the house.

Why do you think Obama is at a measly 53%?

Obama is gonna get reelected. But that doesn't mean he is a great leader. What America needs IS a great leader. Eh?

4. That is really great. Usually, the incumbent President is behind the leader in the other parties

nomination race. Obama is doing extremely well.

20. WE! ARE! THE 53%! Oh, wait...

That's the center-right partisans that want to rely on 53% to advance the interests of the narrow economic majority that sees themselves as naturally allied with the interests of the top 1% (true story, google "the 53%" movement, it's the Tea Party version of the 99%.)
