Or, the Robert DeNiro that sweeps floors or delivers pizzas for a living?

(153 posts)Their movies have always had a nice touchy-feely, "lets talk things over rather than resorting to violence" message.

(12,041 posts)Argo portrays an unarmed hostage rescue, Lincoln focuses far more on legislation than it does guns, Silver Linings Playbook does not have any guns at all, Beasts of the Southern Wild only had one scene with a gun being shot in the air in a non threatening way but aside from that was gun free, Life of Pi did not have any guns, Les Miserables had a couple brief scenes of gun violence but it in no way glorified it, I have not seen Amour but from the trailer it sure does not appear to be the type of movie I would expect to see a shoot out in.
That leaves Django Unchained and Zero Dark Thirty as the only two Best Picture nominees that really glorify guns. I will give you that Hollywood in general glorifies guns, but that does not mean all the movies nominated this year are gun movies and if you suggest otherwise it probably means you have not seen the movies that you suggest others should see.

(12,041 posts)Most of the Best Picture nominees were not centered on guns and that is the fact. Django Unchained is not representative of all the movies that were nominated.

(12,041 posts)Certainly not everyone in that room was a fan of Django Unchained. Don't pretend that everyone in that room is a hypocrite just because a violent movie was nominated.
