is reaching a Tea Party like level of fury. I'm at a level of hate and disgust that I never thought I was capable of. If the freepers want a war, I say bring it on. I'm a far left liberal who is also a gun owner who is in favor of gun control. There are more gun owning liberals then these assholes think. I love my country and would be happy to meet force with force if it comes to that. My blood pressure is up and my tolerance for these traitors is WAY down. Are others feeling this way? 7. I just posted about something like this. I find myself becoming a mirror image of THEM at times.

Although I'm ashamed or embarrassed, I recall the years (most of my life) when I was blissfully ignorant and just didn't care enough to pay attention. I just waited for those who were "into politics" to pick the Democratic candidates for me, and that's who I'd vote for.

Now I realize how dangerous that was -- what if we ALL were so cavalier?

But I have to say, the past several days I've been on a NetFlix West Wing marathon (I never watched it when it ran), and although it's all politics (and they are hashing out THE EXACT SAME ISSUES we are now), just getting away from the "real world" has been helpful.

I still turn on MSNBC and check into DU a few times a day, but I've been less inclined to get tunnel vision and obsess about anything and it's easier to just pass by the outrage threads rather than jumping in and adding my own.

We need to heal -- both sides do.

I have a visceral hatred of those stupid fuckers. They are ruining civilization and society and happiness and prosperity for my kids and my grandkids. I am ready for them to be eradicated like the vermin they are. I know it's not reasonable to feel that way but I am so over their bullshit and the future of myslelf and those I love have been unalterably damaged and continues to be damaged with every passing moment of their idiocy, obfuscation, racism, classism, hypocracy obstructionism, and their disdain for anyone buy their own damned selves.

I say bring it on too. I don't own a gun but I have an uncanny aim with one. I would rather fight them in the streets for control of my future than talk any longer about it. God, that sounds crazy but that's just where I am at the moment. My apologies to those who find the idea revolting. It's just a frivolous fantasy, anyway. It'll never happen because bluster as they might, they are truly too stupid and too cowardly to make the first move.

9. I have learned that for your own mental wellbeing

You need to occasionally need to take a break. Don't visit DU, turn off MSNBC, leave the radio off, etc. take a bike ride, listen to some music, read a book, do anything BUT politics for a week. I have to do this at least once a month just to get the knot in my stomach to loosen up. If you, like me, tend to be a political junkie, it can make you insane. Take a break. It will all still be there when you get back but your blood pressure will be lower.

work to just give it a rest and find a working solution to stop the killing since they have kids too. I also said that I think that the ones who are so set against background checks etc. are afraid of failing and not qualifying for a gun...therefore there are people who have guns that shouldn't have them out there and they themselves know it.

If people already have legal guns... but now can't pass a background check...what happens to their guns? Are they confiscated and by whom?

here they just passed a law that if a person has a restraining order against them they are to turn in any guns within a certain amount of time or they will be taken by court order. So it could be likely.
