GOP base doesnt care if the country burns

There was a recent post on DU on how GOP lawmakers want Sequestration so they can "blame it on Obama". http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251288045#top

I live in a pretty red area of a swing state. From what I have heard by Republicans, is that they dont care if the GOP holds the country hostage because they think everything Obama does has some nefarious hidden plan behind it. They think Obama is out there actively dismantling all aspects of the good ol' American way of life and that "a few years of pain is worth it to stop his agenda." I know a vet who needed a job. The veterans job act was stonewalled by the Republicans (he reaaaallly could use that program). But it is ok with him, because, ya know, Obama is the President.

Are these people idiots? Is it the right-wing media that uses ambiguous platitudes and every negative adjective possible when referring to Dems? Why do these people cheerlead those that make them suffer???

99.5% of the country's wealth is in cities and suburbs. The people who will suffer overwhelmingly will be red areas, small towns, rural areas. To your point, the people that need government the most are cutting their own throats, as usual.

A bunch of people would rather be poor just as along as they're slightly richer than most brown people. You see this all the time now in the coded words about Obama's "goodies" for his base never mind they would also benefit.
