why ted nugent was invited to the state of the union

Why Ted Nugent was invited to the state of the union.

people are always invited to the SOTU to show problems that need fixing.
there was a 102 year old woman to show the problem with voting restrictions
there were victims of gun violence to show the need for new gun laws
and Nugent was there to show the need for more funding to combat mental illness

"Foul spoken coward, that thund'rest with thy tongue, and with thy weapon nothing dares perform." from Titus Andronicus. As Shakespeare's bloodiest play, Titus Andronicus is packed full of insults like this one, declaring someone all talk and no walk in a much fancier, more literary way. Perfect for challenging others to duels and feats of strength, if you're into that sort of thing.

And definitely don't deserve being used to insult ted the ped!!!!!! (I've had pet toads and they have their own little personalities, even. My little buddy, "Toadsies", especially. )

Annnnnnyway.......
Love this Shakespeare. I never studied him but I love his insults, especially.

Did you see the movie, Titus, with Anthony Hopkins? Very cool visually, like bizarre dreams.

As he left the the gallery, Nugent was swarmed by fans wanting photos — and even one woman who yelled “Run for president, Ted!”

“You hear that?” he said to a reporter. “I have more support than the President at his own speech.”

Well, maybe he's got some clinical narcissism going on there.....

But nothing going on with him is worthy of sympathy. What he deserves is the consequences of his selfish cravings to boomerang him right in his buckteeth.

It's really unfair to the mentally ill. I never liked his "music" either. And as someone who grew up in Michigan, I feel compelled to now share my percentage of Michigan's apology to the US and the world: Sorry about Ted Nugent.

On the other hand, I feel that Nugent was invited to the SOTU because republicans are desperate to grow beyond being the party of stupid. Into what, I'm not certain but now we are at least catching a whiff of it.

(And a slap on the wrist to any who think "Well, that explains a lot" to my statement of being "mentally ill.)

That may have been the effect, but it wasn't the intent (which is fine with me)!

Plus, prior to the SOTU, ole Ted was flapping around the right-wing-o-sphere advertising that he would be available to press both before and after the SOTU- that he was gonna eat the press. He said he would be respectful to "the office", but would have lots to say before and afterwards.

After the SOTU, he just sent out a Tweet calling Obama a con man or something.

I have not seen one clip of a before or after press interaction by Ted following the SOTU.

Did he get ignored?

LOL!
