Dorner manhunt: Girls basketball scholarship honors slain couple

girls basketball scholarship fund has been established in memory of Monica Quan and Keith Lawrence, an engaged couple allegedly gunned down by fugitive ex-cop Christopher Dorner, officials said Tuesday.

Quan, 28, an assistant women's basketball coach at Cal State Fullerton, was the daughter of Randal Quan of the Los Angeles Police Department, who represented Dorner at his termination hearing. Dorner was fired from the LAPD in 2009.

Lawrence, 27, had recently started working for USC's Department of Public Safety as an officer.

Quan and Lawrence were found together Feb. 3 shot to death in their car in the parking structure of their condominium complex in Irvine. Dorner remains at large and has eluded a massive manhunt across the region.
