I'm thinking that some will realize an AR-15 doesn't sound as bad an idea as it may have seemed. The guy looks pretty big too.

If his access to guns terminated with his employment as a police officer, these crimes would not have occurred nor would this story be unfolding.

(48,121 posts)I don't think McVeigh used a gun and got by pretty well killing some folks.
People have been murdering each other since before cain and abel.
He couldn't have gotten away if we didn't allow people other than cops to have cars that can go over 35mph.
And I see the cops, that some worship as the only people who should own guns other than military, shot up some people today as well.
I don't buy into the whole 'all us citizens are suspects and not to be trusted' crap that folks seem to enjoy (hence tsa, etc). It is a sad day when we trust someone because of who they work for and don't trust those who work elsewhere (ie, government job= you are responsible and can have a gun/drone/etc - cause we all know the government does not kill innocent people...).
The idea is to pit us against each other by making us afraid of one another so we give more money to the powerful to lessen our rights and protect us from each other.
What percent of legal gun owners have used their guns in crimes?

(2,436 posts)You're looking at the wrong thing. People are obviously frail and capricious.
It's about the guns and the ammo.
All guns and ammo come off the assembly line as good guns and ammo.
But somewhere in the chain of commerce and in the hands of frail human beings, they go bad.
Why do you want to play such a game of chance with them?
Adopt the Japanese model.
