Philly French Toast Brigade! 3" of snow is coming, we're all gonna DIE!

My Acme is already sold out of bread, milk, and eggs.

First of all, many of these folk could afford to miss a meal or six, but that isn't gonna happen even if we have two feet of snow which we're not. The pantries in my neighborhood resemble a survivalist's wet dream. Funny stuff...

All of this panic here in Philly stems from the 1978 storm which started 2-4 inches, became 4-6, 6-8, 8-12, 14-16, 16-18, 20-22 and the stores realized that people are so PTSD'd that all they have to say was the four letter word...SNOW!, and people went running as fast as possible.

I never thought of it like that but that's how I'm going to refer to it from now on.

Even before '78, 3" of snow was enough to cause total meltdown.

Now I live in Maine and they're predicting up to 3'. Aaaack!

9 days in the dark a few months ago in NJ in the cold with no heat, gas, refrigerators and with everything in the vicinity closed shut is well, just not funny.

And the temperatures last night were about 20 degrees, and the trees are very shaky due to the storms (there was also a major wind storm about 10 days ago too).

So I take these alerts seriously.
(and don't mean to be a party pooper).

3" of snow is a dusting....

What was the point of your post if not to poop on the party?

No sleep, no hot showers, spent about 16 to 20 hours a day driving from one side of NJ to the other to aid in generator hookups. My car became a mobile apartment. So thankful gasoline was not much of an issue for me (I live in PA) as gas was available where I live.

The devastation down the shore is still heartbreaking.

That snow/ice storm we had last year knocked us out for a few days.

I'm hoping this one will not be so bad.

Even though the storm will miss us, I bet some will do a little freaking tomorrow.

But considering CL&P's performance on power outages in recent years and the blizzard warnings, I can see why nobody is screwing around.
