Police shoot two in Torrance in search for ex-LAPD cop
February 7, 2013 | 7:32 am

Los Angeles and Torrance police were involved in two shootings in Torrance early Thursday when police came across vehicles similar to the one sought by authorities in a massive manhunt for an ex-LAPD officer suspected of shooting three other officers.

Neither incident actually involved the suspect, said Torrance police Lt. Devin Chase. The suspect, Christopher Jordan Dorner, 33, was at large Thursday morning.

The first Torrance incident occurred about 5:20 a.m. in the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue in Torrance, Chase said. That incident involved Los Angeles police detectives from the Hollywood division, sources said.

The second incident, which involved Torrance police, occurred at Flagler Lane and Beryl Street about 5:45 a.m. No injuries were reported in that incident.

Women delivering newspapers in Torrance shot in manhunt for ex-cop

Two women who were shot by Los Angeles police in Torrance early Thursday during a massive manhunt for an ex-LAPD officer were delivering newspapers, sources said.

The women, shot in the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue, were taken to area hospitals, Torrance police Lt. Devin Chase said. They were not identified. One was shot in the hand and the other in the back, according to Jesse Escochea, who captured video of the victims being treated.

It was not immediately known what newspapers the women were delivering. After the shooting, the blue pickup was riddled with bullet holes and what appeared to be newspapers lay in the street alongside.

They shot two women delivering newspapers because they drove a similar vehicle?

So much is wrong with that I don't know where to begin.

If they thought the had the right vehicle, why didn't they pull it over, check the license plate, or set up a roadblock?

So, twice within a half hour, cops in LA opened fire on totally innocent people in their search for the cop killer/killer cop. There better be some fucking investigations coming out of that. But not to worry; the shootings will be found justified.

They apparently think their lives are worth more than ours.

But the drugs and guns flow with the Hollywood PD protection, in many cases. You don't think they are having just beers and cocktails at all of those posh, celebrity-owned, celebrity-attended entourage fests.

The media mentioned mistakes as example of how 'very wound up' the cops were.

So residents living with the trigger-happy LAPD can breath a sigh of relief.

It's just us down here that have to worry.

(Our complex near Pt. Loma is currently in lockdown because of this situation.)
