Yes, you are, because this is what it looks like from the outside:

You believe that the world is only 6,000 years old, and that fossils excavated by archeologists have been placed there by the same archeologists to prove their “fake theory” of the world being older.

You believe that “electricity is a mystery”, that the Loch Ness monster is real, and that there’s a global conspiracy between all branches of science with the sole purpose of getting rid of God.

You believe that the Bible should be the law of the land and refuse to accept that the history of Europe has proven this to be one of the worst things you can do to your country.

You believe that natural disasters are God’s way of punishing your country for wanting to keep Church and State separate.

The target is vague, and fallaciously all encompassing ...

"America" is a bunch of dirt on a chunk of planet ....

"America", itself, does NOT have an opinion about anything ....

"America" has citizens who all think differently, and even when there is a belief that MANY citizens might ascribe to, it is not universally embraced ... Saying that "America" believes something is uselessly broad ...

Much of what she posts is excellent stuff. I'm sort of surprised by all the negative responses here. I certainly didn't mean to offend.

I have done a fair amount of out of the country travel, and a lot of the world looks at us and scratches their head in puzzlement.

I want to clarify something regarding my ”Laughing Stock” note:

I am not offending anyone, I am not saying that this is how all Americans are.

What I’m doing is providing you with a fairly accurate picture of how the United States of America is *perceived* by the general European populace.

By Dog, you all should know by now that personally I am fairly well aware of how things are in your country. I *know* that you’re all not part of “the crazies”. I *know* that you’re frustrated and want to change things, and I *know* how hard it is.

The thing is, though, the media in general don’t report it when a politician says that the earth is billions of years old. They report it when a politician says it is not. And things like this pretty much happens daily in America, and it’s reported in Europe.

So yes, to the average European America looks like a nation that’s giving in to the crazies.

I tried to take a humorous approach but the fact of the matter is that we’re scared to death over here. We’re honestly hoping that the sane people will win but it looks more and more hopeless from the outside.
