Why are the dems trying to sabatoge Bob Menendez?

Is this Lautenberg's way of keeping his seat, and saying to Booker, here, take this one?

Or is this the way of that smokefilled back room Pallone using some weird power play to find room for himself?

Go Cory! Go Bob!
Go Christine Quinn in NYC
Go Hillary45 2016

Very odd timing.

I also think there is a racial aspect to this by Fox and the repubs.
Trying to bring another minority down.

I remember how they took McGreevey down just because he admitted he was gay.
Reeks of McCarthyism

A lot of these underage girl prostitutes are actually sex slaves. IF, and only IF, he is guilty he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Innocent until proven guilty and all that. But it bears investigating to see if true.

was different, but right before an election it was revealed he was being "investigated". Also, CREW Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington was contacted by an anonymous caller about this. He would not give any info, would not give any names, and would not participate in any legal proceedings. The spokesperson for CREW (and they're very critical of ethical lapses, obviously) said it was clear the caller was only interested in smearing his name and not persuing the truth. They turned the info over to the FBI. The FBI claims it was an anonymous tip, they couldn't validate anything and had no additional info. Now, remember two women came up from the dominican republic claiming they were prostitutes and had slept with him. The only station that would book them was so right wing, non mainstream site, they came on with lawyer, would not give names, had no proof, and couldn't give them anyone else to back their claims. Prostitution is legal in the DR so why wouldn't they give their names? The story originally didn't seem very legit. If there is something else coming out we'll see, but this story is old. It was circulating for a long time with no takers. Hmmmmm

being that Cory Booker is going to win his seat in 2014.

This is a very dangerous smoked filled room game Lautenberg is playing, and he plays games well, so its not an innocent statement.

here is his DIRECT quote-and Lautenberg is a pro,on top of his game, and knows what he is saying.

http://politicalwire.com/archives/2013/01/31/bonus_quote_of_the_day.html
All of this, if they are infractions as they are reported, it's too bad."

-- Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), quoted by the Newark Star Ledger, on the controversy surrounding Sen. Robert Menendez's trips to the Dominican Republican and prostitutes

Sun Feb 3, 2013, 06:23 AM
Feb 2013

I got the story from Taegan, but Taegan just linked it from the #1 paper in New Jersey

and besides, Taegan is not right wing. Where do you get that.
Besides, it is irrelevant anyhow BEING THAT LAUTENBERG SAID IT.

the headline board is like Huffington Post,(and she is a libertarian), Raw Story or Drudge
they post headlines from papers around the country.

but without them, I still would have seen the quote, being that i read the paper the quote came from.

and the NJ paper it came from is the #1 newspaper in New Jersey.
(BTW, they are Lautenberg fans,in case you never heard of them).

Lautenberg said those remarks.

why are you denying he said them?
Can you show me proof he did not say them?
because he said it.and he hasn't denied saying it.
Lautenberg is pissed that Cory Booker independently ran for his seat, even though Lautenberg has not officially announced he is retiring(though it is common thought in NJ that is true,
and that Pallone upsurper also is running, but he ain't ever getting my vote in any primary from me, though if he were the nominee, of course I would vote for him as I only vote for democratic candidates or those rare times where third parties can win and the democratic candidate cannot and that person will caucus with the dems(like Bernie Sanders or Angus King) for instance.

and yeah baby who wouldn't want to deflate the republican party down to Whig size?
I would love it if there was only one party, the democratic party
President Clinton in 2016, VP Biden in 2016, control the senate, the house
and soon the US Supreme Court 8 to 1 or 9 to 0 by the end of President Clinton's second term in 2021.

13. what a ridiculous joke thread
Sat Feb 2, 2013, 11:03 PM
Feb 2013

dems are picking on poor Bob Menendez. Inanity.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/06/nyregion/senator-robert-menendez-stalls-obama-move-to-promote-judge-patty-shwartz.html

When a Democratic president nominates a federal judge from a state with two Democratic senators — and the Senate itself is controlled by Democrats — a speedy confirmation hearing typically follows.

But in an unusual case of intraparty defiance, Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey is holding up President Obama’s nomination of a judge to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the only time a Democrat has tried to block one of Mr. Obama’s judicial nominees.

Mr. Menendez would not comment. But the nominee, Patty Shwartz, has been in a relationship for more than two decades with the head of the public corruption unit for New Jersey’s federal prosecutor. And that unit investigated the senator during his 2006 election fight, an inquiry Mr. Menendez has long contended was politically motivated.

Judge Shwartz, now a federal magistrate judge in Newark, a lower-level position, declined to comment. But the connection has led lawyers and judges in the state to speculate that Mr. Menendez is acting out of resentment, rather than any concern about Judge Shwartz’s qualifications.

being that nothing was found, your implication is implying the opposite you are implying
Sometimes one local person knows more about a reason to not carte blanche someone
that a thousands in the nation

unless one wants a republican to be put in place to allow the whine to conti....

I personally suspect one would need to go back a decade past with regard to Judge
Schwartz. Or possibly two.
It takes living in NY and NJ to know

oh wait....no....

no implication meant.

but then again, the following is true-
I was shocked yesterday to realize that the smear the now proven vile Mario/Andrew Cuomo did on Ed Koch was not taken as fact til yesterday. Some even tried to deny it existed.

I mean come on, my eyes saw it. My ears heard it.
And in his recorded for history obit, we can now say Thanks Mayor Koch for putting in words, audio, video, the truth for all to hear and see.
Rest in Peace Ed. Love his vivaciousness, regardless of issues of his that I loved and hated
(his starting a race war when a black kid was beaten), in his political time. Rest in Peace to Ed.
(but my mind is wondering.)

I for one do not want Chris Christie, conservative rpeulibcan getting his hands around picking a 9 month interim sentator for NJ.
Nor do I personally ever want to see F. Pallone become senator, or governor.

But it is obvious that one plus one does not equal three.
THAT IS A FACT.
no matter what can be said.
one plus one does NOT equal three.

oh, yes, from wiki-what freaking sparkling timing it is 'deed.
On January 3, 2013, it was revealed that Pallone is considering another bid for the Senate should Sen. Frank Lautenberg elect not to pursue another term in office in 2014

yup!
ayuh!
+1
a gazillin!
yup!
ayuh!

one plus one does NOT equal three.

Two is the number.
but there is only ONE.

and oddly enough, the ONE and ONLY one person in New Jersey that is not connected happens to be Cory Booker.
Damn, what a coincidence that is. What a coincidence.
Cory upset the apple cart.
(Can you believe Lautenberg said Cory should be spanked?
WTF is up with that. Spanking is now considered abuse, and Lautenberg is talking about if his kids did that, they would be spanked??? Shees, I love Bing Crosby, but he died in the 1970s,
and people were taken aback, back then that one of his kids said that.
Funny, though, symetry, Bing Crosby also said, "Everybody has an angle" And DAMN RIGHT everybody has an angle, and boy is it showing in this menendez thingy.
Lautenberg, Pallone, Christie, etc.)

it's as easy as black and white

again
no implication meant.
none at all.

I am just saying
and numbers is my thingy.
one plus one does NOT equal three.

reminds me of an old joke I heard back in the days when smoking was allowed in restaurants
room so thick with smoke one couldn't breathe.
I hate those old smoke room days, my clothes reeked, had to get them drycleaned.

anyhoo, I digress..
here's the joke-

hey, waiter, can I have a Lautenberg.
and for my two friends, bring me a Menendez, and a Booker.

ten minutes later the waiter returns and brings us a
Lautenberg, Menendez and a Booker. and a Pallone.
Waiter, wait a minute, we didn't order a Pallone.
Waiter come back, we didn't order a Pallone

as said, rest in peace Ed Koch.
And hopefully, the next mayor of NYC will be Christine Quinn.
symetry. It's a wonderful thing.
but there goes my mind, wondering again, oops I mean wandering again.

and even waking up with a little snow this morning, well, it's still a beautiful new day in New Jersey.
as Think sang in the 1970s "Things get a little easier, once you understand"
(just using the title here, the lyrics have nothing to do with the conversation, and the song itself is one of the weird curios from an age gone by.So no need to find and play the song
and wonder WTF was G4A talking about bringing up that song.
I just am using the title, that's all.)

as the old canard goes-
remember, change what one can
accept what one cannot change
and have the wisdom to know the difference.

But I do know 100% for sure
one plus one does NOT equal three. FACT
the rest is IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO IMHO

but one plus one does NOT equal three=fact.

you don't seem to believe that any dem can possibly do wrong.

I haven't seen any dem trying to sabotage him. Now if you can produce some quotes from Lautenberg sabotaging him, I'd be interested to see them.

Here's the Senate Majority Leader defending Menendez

Reid defended the Menendez as a “friend” and “outstanding senator” but declined to discuss any details he may have had with the New Jersey lawmaker about media reports of allegations that he had sex with prostitutes in the Dominican Republic.
