will definitely be stepping down in the coming years.

Another sane reason to ensure President Obama gets reelected. We can't afford another Republican in the WH if we're ever going to bring back fairness and balance in SC(R)OTUS.

She is nearly eighty years old.

She has beaten back cancer (colon and pancreatic) twice--most recently three years ago.

She wants to retire when she is eighty two, she has said. That will put her on the bench through more than half of Obama's second term.

She mentioned a painting that usually hangs in her office by the German emigre artist Josef Albers. The painting is part of a traveling exhibition and is supposed to be returned in 2012.

"If anyone asks how long I'll be here, at least until my Albers comes back," she said.

Edited to add:
Justice Louis Brandeis was on the Supreme Court of the United States from June 1, 1916 – February 13, 1939 - 22 years, 8 months, 2 weeks
Justice Ginsburg has been on the Supreme Court since August 10, 1993.

So, if she wants to beat his tenure then she couldn't retire until the end of April 2016

That would still leave enough time for President Obama's to appoint a new justice and get him/her confirmed before he leaves office January 20, 2017.

She's gotta meet or beat his record!

Although some have speculated she might step down next year, the 77-year-old Ginsburg told The Associated Press on Tuesday she has no plans to retire anytime soon and still wants to match Justice Louis Brandeis, who stepped down at age 82.

I also thought that Hillary looked particularly tired, and noted how much she has aged in four years.

All that flying around and trying to reason with people who wont be reasoned with would age anyone. She did look beat to the bones.

...kept her looking younger than her years while she was running for office. Maybe she was botoxing earlier; maybe something else. Up until three years ago she looked ten years younger than her age. Now she doesn't need to look younger. She is wearing the hair style she wore when she was in her thirties, pulled severely back from her face -- that's hard for an older woman to wear well.

Anyway, I too hope she is not killing herself with work. She's a good and faithful servant of the people.
