We have a different far less gun friendly electorate made up of more African Americans, Hispanics, single women, LGBT, Asians, urbanites, all who tilted heavily for Obama and the Democrats in 2012 and who poll poorly for the RBKA crowd. The RBKAers will post the pictures of their minority best friends and a Village People collection of sock puppets spouting NRA talking points will pop up all over the internet but the tide is turning against them and they know it.

(39,171 posts)this is an issue that will turn non-voters into voters - there are a lot of single issue voters.
All you may do is energize a block of voters that are definitely not Democrats.

(23,500 posts)Teabaggers many not be so popular anymore, but they still have plenty of power.
They control most of the state governments in the US, and they have used that
power to gerrymander the House so severely that even though people voted for
Democrats over Republicans in landslide proportions in House races, the Rapeuglican
teabaggers still have a 50-seat majority that we have little chance of diminishing
in the foreseeable future.

(10,942 posts)Americans see the economy slowly coming back and republicans doing everything they can to derail the recovery. If implementation of Obamacare goes well leading up to November 2014, republicans could well lose the House along with Democrats holding the Senate by a big margin. The losses by republicans will come from blue state republicans who won't be able to free themselves from their southern and interior west cousins.

(3,419 posts)Agree the tide is turning but not how you think it is.
All you have to do is keep up what your doing and it will alienate millions more of Democrats and Independents. In fact the anti-gunners are doing a great job of this. Many good Democrats have left DU because of the name calling and bullshit that has been piled on them.
If people think that 1994 was bad for the party it will look like child's play in comparison.

(735 posts)MSNBC hammering the NRA tonite and see RBKA extremism as a great wedge issue. Rachel pointing out for 2nd night the very poor return on investment the NRA got in the last election. Mark McKinnon saying the Republicans are going after a smaller and smaller pool of voters on the road to irrelevance. The RBKAers are dying off.

(3,419 posts)And Last night I dreamed
I was in a Hollywood movie
And that I was the star of the movie
This really blew my mind
The fact that me an overfed long haired leaping gnome
Should be the star of a Hollywood movie, hmmm
But there I was
I was taken to a place
The hall of the mountain kings
I stood high by the mountain tops
Naked to the world
In front of
Every kind of girl
There was long one's, tall ones, short ones, brown ones,
Black ones, round ones, big ones, crazy ones
Out of the middle, came a lady
She whispered in my ear
Something crazy
She said,
The RBKAers are dying off.
The RBKAers are dying off.
The RBKAers are dying off.

(24,853 posts)I'll say this though... if there are enough people like you out there, count on the votes of the 80,000,000 or so gun owners automatically going against us. And of the remaining voters, how many do you suppose support RKBA but don't own a gun? Count on their vote going against us as well. Now you're looking at about oh, close to 100,000,000 votes out of the gate being cast against Democratic candidates. You go guy.
The more strident, offensive, and insulting you and people like you become, the bleaker the future looks for the Democratic Party IMO. And, considering that we have elections every two years, it's looking pretty bleak for a long time.
As far as "Spill the Wine" goes though... a person old enough to buy the first release on vinyl would only be in their mid to late 50s. So, as with each and every other one of your posts, you're merely trying to be inflammatory by saying knowing the song validates your they're either dead or dying claim.

(24,853 posts)I'm gonna stick with what I posted before though... the more strident, offensive, and insulting people like you get, the more voters you'll drive away from the Democratic Party.
Are you like this IRL?
