(22,165 posts).. we had been best friends for 45 years .... I spoke to her mother and adult daughter (trying to see what we could do to get her desperately needed help) on Monday, August 27.
She was found dead Tuesday August 28th ... one day before her 50th birthday.
Hoping for a far happier year for both of us!

(68,644 posts)...has been making passes at the helpers who made it possible for them to stay in their own home.
On top of their firing said help day after day and expecting somebody to step in and fix it all...
And that was the end of that.
I hope you've had a good year, Will, and that 2013 will be remarkable.
For all the right reasons!

(27,985 posts)A failed recall of Walker and, with the help of total gerrymandered redistricting, the state legislator here is totally fucked.

(13,141 posts)politically in WI, despite all that turned out wrong.
We saw such a beautiful power in the people who
fought back there. Not only was it inspiring, but it
was a glimpse of more to come. The power of the
people will prevail.. not the power of stupidity, but
of the passionate courageous heart.
Sorry it was the worst for you, but it left a lasting and
profound impression, a good one, on many of us.

His girlfriend had an aneurysm and died suddenly . It really sent him into depression.

(26,251 posts)At the same time I had to put my 95 year old, childless, widowed aunt into assisted living, because she was living with my mother and it became increasingly obvious that my mother is starting to develop some dementia symptoms and I can't handle all of their issues while still having to hold down a full time job, maintain my aunt's old house, which is in need of much maintenance, repairs and upgrades before it will ever pass an inspection to be able to sell it, and keep up the huge yard.
It has been a hellish year.

It was a pretty good year, otherwise.

And then last month there was a gas explosion outside my brothers' apartment in Springfield Massachusetts - thankfully no one was seriously hurt but a strip club was lost.

(32,075 posts)...only to be told that the position was offered to somebody else. I thought that at long last, this never-ending nightmare would be over FINALLY. The twit doing the hiring wasted the time of my references by having them write letters, yet she never even bothered to speak with me. And, I KNOW they wrote good letters. The job almost certainly went to a former student. Her loss.
I am so fucking sick of this shit.

That was the upside-new better boss, more pay. Nationally? Watching Republicans twart anything to help the average American.
