UPS Guy Caught Taking iPad From Doorstep
It had been delivered earlier, by FedEx

A UPS deliveryman is out of a job and charged with theft after a homeowner's video showed him taking a previously delivered iPad, reports KHOU-TV of Houston. FedEx dropped off the package in the morning and notified the family of delivery. When it was nowhere to be found, dad checked video from a camera on the porch and caught the UPS worker, who delivered a package in the afternoon, red-handed. UPS has coughed up a replacement iPad.

Competition over essential services makes them better! Just look at the fire companies of 19th century cities! VERY efficient!

Usually I feel bad when people are fired right before the holiday season, but not for this guy. "Happy Holidays", thief.

6. Apple shouldn't put packing slips on the outside of the box

or the packing slip envelopes they use should obscure the packing list completely.

I bought an iPad for my parents and it came in a nondescript box. The return address is "AI" in Jonestown, PA, with "AI" apparently standing for "Apple, Inc." Unfortunately there was also a packing list on the outside of the box with a very clear Apple logo which gave the package away as being rather valuable. I suppose anybody who has ordered from Apple knows what "AI" is, but you really have to examine the label closely to see that. (Which this UPS driver clearly did after he witnessed no response to the doorbell.)

I think if I did it again I'd have it delivered to my local Apple store. FedEx Ground didn't let me hold it for delivery so I had no option other than giving a signature release.

I love it. Used it recently.

After FedEx left a 27" Samsung monitor just sitting on my door step, I consider the fact it was still there nothing short of a miracle given the number OCTA riding assholes who piss in my yard who had to have seen it.

Intended for the neighbors address.

When I took it to the neighbors, she had invited me in for a cup of coffee. She had been expecting the delivery that day based on the tracking number; apparently the package had sat on our doorstep for nearly 5 hours before I had come home...
