Can you hear it?

All across America, Republicans are asking: "What was it again that we didn't like about Tim Pawlenty?"

3. Yeah, but, all I remember is that he's the gov. that had the bridge fall down!

That, to me, was the ultimate dereliction of duty. Good god, man, you couldn't prevent such a huge disaster in your own state and you want to lead this country? REALLY?

No deal.

4. i don't see how Tim Pawlenty would have done well

i think he might have taken some from Romney and SAntorum might have been a more clear winner in Iowa early on. but it still ends with either Romney or some wingnut alternative.

10. Nice?

Trust me, Tim Pawlenty isn't nice. He has that pleasant aw-shucks demeanor, but it's fake - he's just as mean and cold as the rest of them. He had no qualms about cutting off medical assistance to the poorest people in this state so he didn't have to raise taxes on the 1%-ers. He's every bit the fanatical supply-sider. You don't want him any more than the others.

11. He's a nasty back-stabber, but I do think he has appeal. I'm sure the anti-matter Brickba loves him.

What with the hockey, and all.

9. Honestly, I was relieved when he dropped out. I was worried he would ride a bunch of second-place

finishes until places like Florida embraced him and pushed him to the top. He's beatable, of course, but very appealing in a non-southern-good-ol'-boy kind of way.

13. If by some strange twist of fate, Noot got the nomination

and didn't have to cut a deal with Santorum to have him as second on the ticket, the question arises: Who would he pick?

Not another Southerner, and surely no one who could possibly outshine him, but Pawlenty would get the establishment Republicons back in line again. Of course, there's still the idea of picking a woman, a minority, or a combination, but that person is likely to get way more notice than Noot, and he wouldn't stand for that.

14. I Newt gets the nomination...

... He should offer the VP slot to Mitt -- just to add insult to injury. After Mitt turns it down, Newt could make a big deal out of Mitt's pettiness and go into full-bore "screw the establishment" mode.

Newt would then be free to bring on somebody like Rand Paul and then go down to glorious defeat in November -- but sell a SHITLOAD of books afterward. He'd make millions.
