(3,250 posts)He was advised by Jeff Katzenberg, an organizer of the benefit who was there as well, not to let the NYT publish the editorial. Katzenberg felt it went too far and was unfair. He felt it was kicking the President while he was down.
We can agree to disagree about Clooney, but he was not the brains behind the fundraiser. He and Julia Roberts were the pretty faces there to draw donors.

Bruce Springsteen and Neal Young both have ties to the folk music that was so influential in American culture in the New Deal years. For the Far Right, that kind of music is subversive and dangerous. Just like Jazz in the thirties and Rap now.
And just listen to Jesse Welles, coming in under the radar. They don't hear it coming.
