I have an office in a university research-based office complex.

I'm retired and only stop in occasionally to work on my own projects these days. Earlier this week, I asked one of the residents of the office complex if anyone in the group had had a research grant yanked by DOGE. He told me, no, not yet, but that one of the researchers had an NSF [National Science Foundation] grant that he was afraid to start work on for fear that his funding would be yanked mid-project. I wonder how many other researchers there are out there that find themselves in the same fearful situation. We know that DOGE has yanked the funding for a lot of research grants in progress or before they can even start, but how much more already-funded research is going undone these days because of this fear?

He works in environmental study in the Natural Science Academy at Drexel University. He studies, water, quality and watersheds. How can anybody start a project like this not knowing whether it’s gonna be funded or not? last year, he was so happy in his job. They sent him to South America for a week. Now he he’s got a team that he doesn’t know whether he’s gonna have to fire or not and he’s miserable. Here’s a guy I’ve been working hard all his life for the environment. He’s going to hands off demonstrations every weekend

Influencers should really be the ones to do the work of researching everything. They bring a refreshing approach to the Truth, and mostly with an eye to becoming the Idle Rich. Degrees and certifications are expensive and so tiresome. Best to have white teeth and a winning smile, while your youthful zeal and charming confidence win the day! Of course it doesn't hurt to be a celebrity to fawning psychophants.
Trust your gut, and don't be fooled by "experts". Look how far your native intelligence has brought you thus far.
