White House bars AP from Oval Office event

Despite a court order, a reporter and photographer from The Associated Press were barred from an Oval Office news conference on Monday with President Donald Trump and his counterpart from El Salvador, Nayib Bukele.

Last week's federal court decision forbidding the Trump administration from punishing the AP for refusing to rename the Gulf of Mexico was to take effect Monday. The administration is appealing the decision and arguing with the news outlet over whether it needs to change anything until those appeals are exhausted.

All this because they wouldn't rename the Gulf of Mexico?!?! Like something a five-year old would do.

there will be no repercussions ........
If the media would stick together and refuse to cover anything Trump, it could be effective.
But.....greed.

5. The other legitimate media outlets need to boycott White House briefings and events until AP is allowed.

What news value is there in a briefing by Caroline Leavitt, anyway?

It's not as if they would miss anything newsworthy.

10. They don't care about court orders. The courts really have NO POWER OVER TRUMP.

So what is the court going to do fine Trump? Big Deal. Pocket change for him or anyone in his administration

Throw him in jail? I don't think so.

The most that can happen is MAYBE impeachment, but all the Dems (213) and 5 Republicans Representatives have to put on their big girl and big boy pants to get a majority of 218 to vote for articles of impeachment. Then a vote of 66 Senators to vote for impeachment. Current breakdown; Republican 53, Dem 45, Ind 2. Would need 20 Republican senators to vote for impeachment.

In impeachment proceedings, the House of Representatives charges an official of the federal government by approving, by simple majority vote, articles of impeachment. After the House of Representatives sends its articles of impeachment to the Senate, the Senate sits as a High Court of Impeachment to consider evidence, hear witnesses, and vote to acquit or convict the impeached official. A committee of representatives, called “managers,” act as prosecutors before the Senate. In the case of presidential impeachment trials, the chief justice of the United States presides. The Constitution requires a two-thirds vote of the Senate to convict, and the penalty for an impeached official upon conviction is removal from office.

Even then if he "quietly" leaves office we get JD Vance who would continue to execute the Elon Musk, Peter Theil, and Project 2025 contributors' plans to remake our government. And without a doubt Trump will be directing behind the scenes.

12. It takes 67 Senators to convict & remove, then a simple majority after that to ban him for life from any federal office.

We have 47 Senators in our Democratic caucus, so we would need 20 Rethug Senators to flip and vote to convict and remove Trump, plus 4 Rethugs (if he is convicted and removed) to bar him for life.

Basically zero chance 20 Rethugs flip on Trump.

15. Ignoring the court is what they want to highlight. Squashing the press. The Gulf thing is just a silly excuse.
