The Senate just held a hearing for Donald Trump’s nominee to head the Social Security Administration―and it was bad!

For months, we’ve seen headline after headline describing the chaos and ruination that Elon Musk’s DOGE has inflicted upon the Social Security Administration. Today’s hearing showed that nominee Frank Bisignano is not the cure to the DOGE-manufactured chaos at the Social Security Administration. In fact, he is part of it, and, if confirmed, would make it even worse.

Therefore, 4 NO votes are needed from Republicans. In a sane world, that should be easy - you would think no Senator would want to go on record as favoring destroying Social Security as this guy clearly wants to do - but at this point, we'll be lucky to get even one. Despite the near inevitability of his confirmation, all Republican Senators should be harassed constantly about it until the vote.

John Cornyn and Ted Cruz are not likely to take my calls, ever!

On the other hand, there are a few very good Senators, all Democrats, of course, from other states that will, although they rarely vote differently from the way I would have wanted them to. They answer to their constituencies first, of course, not to me (my name is not Musk), but we're usually in synch nonetheless.

I have raged at this asshole (he’s my Senator), so have others I know. He doesn’t give a shit. He’s up for re-election in 2026. He refuses to hold town halls anymore. If he did, he’d be shouted into oblivion. I hope NC’linians vote his OUT.

And YES I sent him email AND called his office. My JOB is to be a PAIN IN HIS ASS because he damn sure is a pain in MINE.
