2. I hope they give her all the mental health care and support she needs.
She will suffer from guilt from being the only one to survive. It will live with her the rest of her life.

7. Can you imagine?
Hopefully she's so young that these awful memories will somehow fade. I don't know though. . . .

3. It is incredible the presence of mind
she had to be so still when covered in blood and the horror around her. Bless her heart and those children whose lives were taken. :loyeya:

4. ABC turns this into a God story! Where the hell was God while 20 kids were killed.
Divine intervention my ass!

5. They just can't resist the urge to do so. . . .
There is NO answer to this other than a crazy maniac and a little girl who was extremely intuitive and fortunate in the face of something so ghastly. Thankfully, she had the bravery and the intelligence to somehow know what to do, if there even WAS a right or wrong thing to do.
When they say "god" saved her, it makes one wonder where "god" was for the other children-- were they expendable? |

8. Their parents didn't pray enough,
Don't you know?
One of my employees was not as damaged by Sandy as much as others and she said that it was because she'd prayed harder. |

6. They disgust me
NO one exploits these crises more than the media and the religious folks.

10. I think her brother was interviewed
Before he saw her the day of the shooting. And then again the day after. The day after he said his little sister had been covered in blood when they first saw her and it was gory. He almost broke down telling it. I can't remember his name but he was in his teens and had nice brown hair and he was a handsome young man. Clearly loves his little sister dearly.

11. Impressive
I'm a scientist so I can't help but think this way. I wonder if such actions are built into us from evolution?
Anyway I'm thankful that someone survived. |

12. I was told this by my teachers
back in the 50s growing up in NYC. If you are ever around gunfire immediately drop to the floor and play dead. Don't try to run away or you will be shot.
Brought back a lot of memories for me when I heard she did this. Makes me wonder if she was told by someone to do this. |

13. Regardless if she was told or it was already in her
It would have taken a significant amount of courage and an ability not to panic. Very impressive for one so young.
