Trump Amplifies "No LGBTQ" Symbol Using Nazi-Era Imagery in Military Ad Post

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-amplifies-no-lgbtq-symbol-using-nazi-era-imagery-in-military-ad-post/ar-AA1AD9cI

Trump posted an article to his Truth Social account this weekend featuring a deeply troubling image: a pink triangle—the Nazi-era symbol used to identify and persecute gay men in concentration camps—covered with a red prohibited sign. Historically, the LGBTQ+ rights movement reclaimed the pink triangle as a symbol of resistance, pride, and remembrance.

The article itself titled, “Army recruitment ads look quite different under Trump,” published by the Washington Times praises Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for refocusing the military on "lethality" and reversing Biden-era policies that embraced diversity, including ads featuring LGBTQ+ soldiers.

The image, placed in the context of military recruitment, strongly suggests a rejection of LGBTQ+ service members, at least in the terms of recruitment, under Trump’s leadership. Trump’s choice to amplify such an image is particularly alarming given Hegseth’s past statements. He has long opposed LGBTQ+ inclusion in the military, previously criticizing the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.

Now, under his leadership, Trump appears to be reinforcing the idea that LGBTQ+ individuals are unwelcome in the armed forces—not just through policy but through amplifying symbolic messaging with disturbing historical roots. Trump’s amplification of a Nazi-era symbol to promote this shift sends a message signaling a return to exclusionary policies that many believed were left in the past.

Or as altered by Rita Mae Brown in 1971, "shall not fail."

Sappho’s Reply

My voice rings down through thousands of years
To coil around your body and give you strength,
You who have wept in direct sunlight,
Who have hungered in invisible chains,
Tremble to the cadence of my legacy:
An army of lovers shall not fail.

Simple choice for them as it's so much cheaper than any sort of investigative reporting on the far more serious shit he's up to, and probably gets more clicks. Outrage sells.

...but the Washington Times graphic seems to use a GI Joe doll. So they clearly don't care what a soldier has in his/her/their pants!

Kidding aside, it's vile that Trump cut the graphic off to use just the pink triangle. Go ahead -- feel free to underestimate the "lethality" of queer service members.

It's scientific fact that humans come in two varieties - XX for female and XY for male.
....EXCEPT....
1. You can be born appearing female, but have a 5-alpha reductase deficiency and grow a penis at age 12.
Medically, this condition is known as “5-alpha reductase deficiency.
2. You can be born legally male with an X and a Y
chromosome, but your body is insensitive to androgens, and you appear female. Androgen insensitivity syndrome is a condition that affects sexual development before birth and during puberty.
3. You can be born legally male with an X and a Y
chromosome, and have a penis and testes, *and* a uterus and fallopian tubes. This another form of androgen insensitivity syndrome.
4. You can be born legally male with an X and a Y
chromosome, but your Y chromosome is missing the SRY gene, which gives you a female body. This is a condition known as Swyer syndrome.
5. You can be born legally female with two X chromosomes, but one of the Xs has an SRY gene, which gives you a male body. This another form of Swyer syndrome.
6. You can be born legally female with two X chromosomes - and also a Y chromosome, which gives you a male body. This child would be "intersex", another form of Swyer syndrome.
7. You can be born legally female with two X chromosomes, but your adrenal gland doesn't produce enough cortisol, and your body develops as a male. This is a condition known as X-linked adrenal hypoplasia congenita and affects the development of the adrenal glands.
8. You can be born with XX chromosomes -*and* XY
chromosomes (chimerism).

It blows my mind to hear people who are supposedly "educated" make comments like "There are only 2 sexes XX and XY"

The other issue that I do not hear brought up is how babies are born different all the time. The average number of legs a baby is born with is

2020 Trump campaign

In June 2020, the re-election campaign of Donald Trump posted an advertisement on Facebook stating that "Dangerous MOBS of far-left groups are running through our streets and causing absolute mayhem" and identifying them as "ANTIFA", accompanied by a graphic of a downward-pointing red triangle. The ads appeared on the Facebook pages of Donald Trump, the Trump campaign, and Vice President Mike Pence. Many observers compared the graphic to the symbol used by the Nazis for identifying political prisoners such as communists, social democrats and socialists. Many noted the number of ads – 88 – which is associated with neo-Nazis and white supremacists.[21][22][23]

As an example of the public outcry against the use of the downward-pointing red triangle, as reported by MotherJones, the Twitter account (@jewishaction),[24] the account of Bend the Arc: Jewish Action,[25] a Progressive Jewish site stated:

"The President of the United States is campaigning for reelection using a Nazi concentration camp symbol.

Nazis used the red triangle to mark political prisoners and people who rescued Jews. Trump & the RNC are using it to smear millions of protestors.

Their masks are off. pic.twitter.com/UzmzDaRBup"[26]

Facebook removed the campaign ads with the graphic, saying that its use in this context violated their policy against "organized hate".[27][28][29][30][31][32] The Trump campaign's communications director wrote, "The red triangle is a common Antifa symbol used in an ad about Antifa." Historian Mark Bray, author of Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, disputed this, saying that the symbol is not associated with Antifa in the United States.[33] -Wikipedia
